Cookes Castles - Terms and Conditions of Hire
Definitions

"Client" or "You" refers to the hirer.

"Company," "Us," or "Cookes Castles" refers to David Cooke trading as Cookes Castles.
These terms apply to all hires including:
1. Equipment Hire Terms

Queries about terms must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of receiving confirmation.

Deposits (if required) must be paid within 24 hours to secure your booking. Failure to do so may result in cancellation.

Final balances are due on delivery.

A hire agreement, safety briefing, and damage report must be signed on the day. The hirer must be present unless agreed otherwise.

It is your responsibility to book a suitable venue. Surfaces must be grass (not sand, bark, artificial grass or steep gradients).

We may refuse to deliver if the site is unsuitable.

Notify us in advance if access is through your house, involves 3+ steps, or if parking isn’t available outside.

For hall bookings, we require one hour setup/takedown time before and after.

Delayed access may incur a surcharge of at least £10.

No 14-day cooling-off period applies.

If you change or cancel your booking and we cannot accommodate the new details, standard cancellation terms apply.

We cancel for bad weather at our discretion (per BBC/Met Office forecasts). You will receive a credit note (valid for 12 months) in this case.

If weather changes mid-hire and we retrieve the equipment:

If we arrive and you or the venue are unavailable or unsuitable, 100% of the fee is still due.

Unforeseen delays (traffic, breakdowns) may result in rescheduling or alternative products offered. No further liability accepted.

If previous use damages/soils equipment, we may offer a substitute or reschedule.
2. Equipment Use & Restrictions

Prohibited items include: face paint, glitter, silly string, confetti balloons, food/drink on equipment.

If the castle is returned soiled or damaged beyond the initial report:

Cleaning fees from £50 or full repair charges apply.

You may be charged for lost business.

Repairs must be done by our approved repairer.

Late payment incurs a £50 admin charge.
